Adult Health

Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health Department offers a variety of clinical services to adults including complete physical exams, Pap smears and pelvic exams. Tests such as cholesterol checks, diabetes screening, and blood pressure checks are also available.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP)

The North Carolina Breast and Cervical Control Program (BCCCP) provides low-cost or no-cost breast and cervical screenings for women who meet certain eligibility requirements. These services include a Pap test and clinical breast exam and if indicated a mammogram.

Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health Department offers a variety of services for children.

Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program

Dedicated to providing education and support to individuals living with diabetes, the MDPP works to council patients on blood sugar monitoring, physical activity, and proper nutrition.

Family Planning

The Family Planning Clinic offers a variety of services such as education, a complete physical exam (this includes a clinical breast exam, Pap test, and birth control methods).

Immunizations

Adult and child immunizations are available at all three clinic locations without appointments, on a walk-in basis.

Maternity Care

Prenatal Care Services are offered in Washington and Tyrrell Health Department Clinics. For appointments, please call 252-793-3023. In Martin County, prenatal patients are referred to the Martin County Health Department at 252-793-1619.

Primary Care

Martin-Tyrrell-Washington Districth Health Department believes the most important thing in our lives is our health status. Services provided include sick visits, monitoring of chronic disease, sports physicals, yearly check-ups, and referrals.

Carolina Access

This program is North Carolina’s Primary Care Case Management Program and is designed to provide a more efficient and effective healthcare delivery system for Medicaid recipients. Carolina ACCESS brings a system of coordinated care to the Medicaid program by linking each eligible recipient with a primary care provider, and by improving access to primary care and encouraging a stable doctor-patient relationship.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Clinic

One of the main priorities of public health officials is preventing the spread of disease. In order to address this issue, Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health Department offers services that include free testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and syphilis.c

WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children)

WIC is a food and nutrition program for women, infants, and children up to age 5. At no cost, WIC gives food and nutrition advice.
