SALARY RANGE:  $39,512.76 – $77,969.82 (Typical Hiring Salary Range)

DESCRIPTION: This administrative position is responsible for directing the activities of the Management Support Division, which includes managing a variety of services from routine office and clinic assignments to technical support for the Electronic Health Record-Cure MD. The division currently consists of up to 10 positions across three counties, which this position will supervise.

As the primary administrator and Director of the Management Support Division, you will ensure the accurate interpretation of directives and effective administration of division activities to deliver high-quality support services. Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. You must be adaptable to sudden changes in the work environment and maintain flexibility in all situations. Patience and the ability to work under stress are critical.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the Debt Setoff Program, managing Provider Credentialing, assisting with billing duties, and providing support for the NC Dave Registry for births and deaths. This position will be responsible for updating policies and procedures related to management support.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to read, interpret and follow established policies and procedures related to Health Department programs.  Must be able to hear, see, and talk in order to perform job duties.  Good oral and written communication skills are necessary.  General knowledge of office practice procedures: Ability to type with accuracy at the speed required by the position; and ability to gather and give basic information and instructions regarding department programs, should inquiries occur. 

Minimum Education and Experience: Completion of high school or equivalent and five years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative experience including one year of administrative or office management experience; or completion of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and three years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative experience including one year of administrative or office management experience; or completion of a four-year program in a college or university preferably with major emphasis on coursework in business administration, public administration or other related field and six months of administrative or office management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
