SALARY RANGE: $30,485 – $60,058 (Typical Hiring Range: $30,785 – $34,460)

DESCRIPTION: 

The major purpose of this position is to register clinic and drop in patients, determine eligibility/fee collections, and data entry of all clinic programs for the Martin County Health Department.  This position will be responsible for data entry of encounters into the Cure MD computer system.  This position is based at the front office in Martin County and will be the designated deputy registrar, responsible for the receipt and maintenance of vital records.  Employee position requires flexibility. Employee may be involved in assisting patients when an interruption occurs.  Employee must possess patience.  Employee must maintain composure while prioritizing workflow and assuring all needs are met.  The position is based in Martin County but employee may be asked to assist, on occasion, in Tyrrell or Washington Counties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read, interpret and follow established policies and procedures related to Health Department programs.  Must be able to hear, see, and talk in order to perform job duties.  Good oral and written communication skills are necessary.  General knowledge of office practice procedures: Ability to type with accuracy at the speed required by the position; and ability to gather and give basic information and instructions regarding department programs, should inquiries occur. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
