Description: The Martin-Tyrrell-Washington District Health Department’s mission is to promote and protect the health of all the citizens in its three county districts; to protect the environment; to provide for an assessment and response to health problems affecting the well-being of the people of Martin, Tyrrell, and Washington Counties. We seek the support of the people of all counties in our endeavors to provide better health services for the communities we serve.
This nurse will be the lead for the Primary Care, Communicable Diseases and Tuberculosis Programs for the district. This role will help coordinate, plan and supervise the efforts of the Martin-Tyrrell-Washington (MTW) District Health Department to provide efficient Primary Care services and investigate Communicable Disease and Tuberculosis cases in Martin County. In addition to duties related to the Lead Primary Care, Communicable Disease, and Tuberculosis roles, this nurse will provide direct patient care to patients requesting any clinical services offered by the MTW District Health Department. This includes the following programs: Sexually Transmitted Infections, Family Planning, Maternal Health, Child Health, Colposcopy, Wise Woman, Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program and other programs as assigned. This person will report directly to the Director of Nursing and the Nursing Supervisor and will work cooperatively with all administrative staff including the Health Director, Deputy Health Director, Medical Director, and other supervisory staff to provide the most effective public health services to the community.
Minimum Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience.
Special Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the N. C. Board of Nursing
